The Kawasaki World Superbike (WSB) Race Team operate in the fast-moving business of world-class motorsport. They operate worldwide from Australia to the USA, racing and testing.

The Race Team is the tip of the iceberg - behind them is a large but disparate group of contributors from the Kawasaki research engineers in Japan to the logistics teams in Europe. Every element is essential for the team to function effectively but rarely are they in the same place at the same time.

The Kawasaki WSB Race Team needed an IT system that met a number of critical requirements. It needed to be accessible worldwide to connect all elements of the team and usable via any available connection to the Internet using a number of different devices.

The solution needed to be secure because some of the data that was critically important to the team was also very sensitive - the Team Manager did not want to lose any data if a laptop was stolen. The system also needed to be flexible so that new users could be enabled or disabled at very short notice.
